Do you already know the importance of producing what you consume?<\/p>\n

Having a close relationship with your food is vital to create another interface and initiate a drastic shift towards new models of food production and consumption.<\/p>\n

When we produce our own food, we are collaborating in countless ways with the sustainability of the planet by reducing the consumption of fossil fuels - food does not have to travel long distances to reach our table; combating waste; less pollution of the atmosphere; production without waste - as our food is no longer packaged. The pros remain on a long list!<\/p>\n

On a personal level, when we grow our food we also have a direct impact on the pocket. Our trips to supermarkets are decreasing along with our spending.<\/p>\n

The home garden can be inserted in any space and brings the family closer to nature<\/h3>\n

And is no excuse to think that it takes a lot of space to grow food. We can grow vegetable gardens on balconies, planters, walls, reused packaging, etc. Creativity is in charge, and the body is very grateful for quality food and for the \u201cvegetable garden therapy\u201d, capable of reducing insomnia, stress, depression and other modern diseases.<\/p>\n

When we think of the family environment, the vegetable garden is a tool to bring the family even closer together and engage children in caring for the land. Little ones benefit a lot from this contact with nature.<\/p>\n

The lack of contact with nature has a very strong impact on children's health. According to researcher Richard Louv: \u201c<\/em>Today, there are many studies showing that contact with nature - even for a short time - can reduce the symptoms of obesity,<\/em>attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), as well as cognitive problems \u201d.<\/em><\/p>\n

The landscaper is the new urban agriculturist<\/h3>\n

Food production at home or even in cities can gain greater proportions in the social sphere. The profession of urban agriculturist will be a real demand until the year 2025, according to several surveys that address the PROFESSIONS OF THE FUTURE.<\/p>\n

For professionals linked to the creation and maintenance of green spaces, such as landscapers, architects, biologists, engineers, the question is: are you ready for when that market niche is effervescent? <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

People are more and more interested in reconnecting with nature. The trend is to have less and less lawns in homes and more productive spaces. The functional landscaping <\/em><\/strong>or edible landscaping, as we like to call it, is the future.<\/p>\n

Landscaping in gardens is a trend with high socioenvironmental impact<\/h3>\n

As an environmental engineer, I believe in the connection between the city and nature through the transformation of physical space. I see that the city relates to its inhabitants as a living organism, as a product of nature and human actions. Therefore, I seek to promote in my projects a greater integration of the human being with nature, not only to bring balance and quality of life at a personal level, but also at the community level.<\/p>\n

In this way, I have been working for four years implementing, designing and sharing knowledge and know-how about urban agriculture and vegetable gardens in the landscaping both with the final consumer, who wants to have fresh food grown by himself at hand, and also with companies that believe sustainability as a key to society's engagement and transformation.<\/p>\n
