Terrariums in Landscaping - Trend for Small Environments
The terrarium is nothing more than a mini garden, an ecosystem that does not require much space, and can be used on any shelf, furniture or even in glass containers in a corner on the floor. Although most terrariums are small, there is nothing to prevent them from being made in large containers as well. Still, for those who do not have much time, the most interesting feature of terrariums is that they do not need much maintenance.
Terrariums bring the presence of green into the home and make contact with nature even in environments with very little space, which can provide relaxing effects as much as gardens. The choice of plants, their shapes and colors, help to promote specific sensations and also influence the type of terrarium that can be used.
Species with very sharp shapes tend to leave the space with a more agitated aspect, being used in living spaces or in work environments that require more energy and movement. More rounded plants create a more uniform mass, promoting a closed environment and a more harmonious aspect.
Terrarium containers can be of the most diverse types: glass jars open or with lids, bowls, aquariums, palm leaves, anything that is available and ready to plant.
There are also those who use them as pendants, which creates a different use for them. It all depends on the needs of each person and space to be decorated. It is a prerequisite to let go of the imagination and use creativity to also contribute to the sustainability of the planet. After all, we are reproducing a mini world and reusing glass jars that were used to store products, there are no limits!
Outra possibilidade para decorar os terrários é utilizar pequenas peças de artesanato para fazer uma composição mais interessante – o que utilizar dependerá do gosto de cada um.
With imagination you can mix colors and shapes using logs of the most diverse sizes and shapes, stones, pebbles and crystals. It is also possible to set up mini-gardens with houses, lakes and other elements that make up a unique scenario, reproducing on the micro what we observed in the macro.
The terrariums in the landscaping promote well-being and moments of reflection for those who observe them, bringing us closer to the natural environment in which we live one day.
Still, in addition to the positive aspects of contemplation, another relaxing feature of the terrariums is the preparation, which can be considered a relaxation ritual.
The construction techniques can be learned in the terrarium workshop that I teach at Alvarenga Neto Academy. A unique learning moment where the participant is inspired and leaves all that day-to-day rush for that moment. An opportunity to train patience and creativity, and strengthen contact with the energy of plants and textures of nature.
